Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support oncologic patient care. The role involves chart preparation, patient liaison, and coordination of hospitalization-related needs in a fast-paced clinic.

Candidates should have CMA certification, BLS CPR, and preferably oncology clinic exposure, with high-quality communication and multitasking abilities to serve diverse patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Assisting in a clinic for 2+ years preferred.
• Oncology clinic experience highly preferred.
• CMA (certified medical assistant) required.
• BLS CPR certification required.

Responsabilités

• Assist Medical Oncologist as needed in patient care.
• Prepare charts for medical care to be rendered.
• Make necessary hospitalization-related arrangements for patients.
• Handle phone calls in a professional, courteous manner.
• File and scan records in patient charts promptly.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Work autonomously with little instruction, and be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.FUNCTIONS:1. Assist Medical Oncologist, when necessary or requested, in providing patient care.2. Preparation of charts for medical care to be rendered.3. Make necessary arrangements for patients, in particular those related to hospitalization.4. Handle phone calls in professional, courteous, and efficient manner.5. Filing of records and scanning of records in patient charts, in a timely manner6.
