Job summary

Wee Care Pediatrics in Layton, UT is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. You will work with a provider to see patients for sick and well visits, handle rooming, history, vital signs, and basic lab work.

Responsibilities include preparing specimens, updating charts, assisting with procedures, and medication administration as directed. Prior pediatric MA experience is preferred; strong communication and compassion are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous MA work experience desired; pediatrics preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with providers, staff, and patients/parents.
• Capable of prioritizing multiple job demands and work in a fast-paced health care environment.
• Demonstrate compassion and understanding for the patient and families.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and take medical history.
• Record vital signs and symptoms/complaints.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic lab tests.
• Update patient charts and order various lab tests.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the provider.
• Assist with in-office procedures (sutures, casting, circumcisions, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: Layton

Type: Part-Time

Schedule: Thursdays 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Saturdays 9:00 am - 9:00 pm every other Saturday, and 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm on the alternating Saturdays.

Job Description:

In this position, as a Medical Assistant, you will work alongside a provider seeing patients for both sick and well visits. Some of your duties will include rooming patients, taking patient medical history, obtaining vital signs and symptoms/complaints, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, updating patient charts, ordering various lab tests, preparing and administering medications as directed by the provider, assisting with in-office procedures (sutures, casting, circumcisions, etc.), and other duties as assigned.
