You will serve as a liaison between practices, payors, and patients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims and payments. The role requires 3+ years in medical billing, knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid rules, and strong Excel/office software skills.

Qualifications

• Three (3)+ years of medical billing and accounting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of medical accounts receivable collection procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing rules.
• Detail oriented with professional attitude and reliability.
• Ability to meet KPIs and work with leadership to support billing goals.
• Strong English communication, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on unpaid insurance claims to obtain settlement of claims.
• Enter data into systems and prepare insurance forms with payer information.
• Verify patient coverage and extent of benefits with insurance companies.
• Generate and mail insurance claim forms and patient statements.
• Review claims for accuracy and refile if needed; review EOBs for accuracy.
• Process write-offs and postings for payments; repost payments as needed.
• Answer patient questions and handle calls professionally; document messages.
• Maintain contacts with payor representatives and monitor accounts receivable activity.
