Job summary

Family Allergy & Asthma in Louisville, KY is seeking a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage healthcare AR across multiple payer types and states. You will investigate denials, submit appeals, and collaborate with care teams to optimize cash flow in a fast-paced specialty practice.

The ideal candidate has AR experience in healthcare, EMR proficiency, and strong communication skills to interact with patients and staff. This is a full-time, on-site role with standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
2+ years of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform experience.
Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, Dual, Commercial, Managed Care and Advantage plans in multiple states.

Responsibilities

Understand and work with multiple carrier types in several states.
Investigate denied or no response claims to determine denial reason and recovery path.
Review payer policies and guidelines to support reconsiderations and appeals.
Identify trends and communicate with leads to plan actions.
Submit corrected claims, reconsiderations and appeals via portal, fax or secure email.
Document research and actions on each claim (IMS).
Coordinate with other departments via shared spreadsheets and follow up on cross communication.
Perform other duties as assigned by department manager.
