Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Temporary Medical Assistant to join the Birmingham, AL clinic team. You will assist Providers in daily operations and patient care, with a 4x10 schedule (Monday–Friday days).

The role requires completing a Medical Assistant program and experience with EKGs; cardiology background preferred. This position offers comprehensive benefits and CME allowances to support your ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Previous experience in Cardiology preferred.
• Experience with EKGs is required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information in charts.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Record patients' medical history and vital statistics in medical records.
• Help physicians examine and treat patients.
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and keep them neat and clean.
• Operate electrocardiogram (EKG) and other equipment for routine diagnostics.
• Day off may differ week to week.

Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Temporary Medical Assistant to join our team at Brimingham Heart Clinic located in Birmingham, AL to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.

This is a 4x10 Monday - Friday day shift.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Help physicians examine and treat patients
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
• Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
• Day off may differ week to week

Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
