Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medicaid CHIP Services (MCS) division seeks a Project Manager IV, reporting to the Medicaid Technology Modernization Director for Operations. The MCS Operations delivers infrastructure for managed care and fee‑for‑service within Texas Medicaid, serving about 4 million Texans.

This senior role manages MES modernization projects, including system integration and upgrades.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience managing and coordinating complex technical projects (e.g., cross‑departmental initiatives).
• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is required.
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Graduation from a four‑year college with coursework in business, project management or systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, oversight, coordination, planning, and evaluation for MES projects.
• Formulates plans to communicate methodologies to stakeholders and team members.
• Manages project plans, milestones, and deliverables for modernization initiatives.
• Prepares budgets, schedules, and resource estimates; monitors quality and expenditures.
• Identifies risks and develops mitigation strategies; prepares status reports.
• Directs, assigns, and evaluates the work of project staff.
