Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Consultant - Medicaid to lead advisory engagements with state and local Medicaid agencies. You will serve as a trusted advisor, shaping client strategy and driving successful consulting engagements across policy, design, and operations.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, develop work plans, oversee delivery, and collaborate with BD, sales, and capture teams to shape win strategies. A minimum of 7+ years in Medicaid consulting and a bachelor’s degree are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in senior-level Medicaid roles or consulting for state programs.
• Experience leading Medicaid consulting engagements and engaging with senior executives.
• Strong understanding of federal and state Medicaid policy, financing, and regulations.
• Experience supporting responses to Medicaid procurements and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting engagements from advisory discussions through scoping, execution and delivery.
• Develop workplans, governance structures, and deliverables aligned to client needs.
• Provide senior oversight to ensure delivery quality and manage risk.
• Recruit team members to support Medicaid consulting opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to strengthen go-to-market strategies and client messaging.
