Maryland Department of Health in Baltimore analyzes and manages the Advanced Planning Document (APD) budgets within the Office of Advance Planning. This role ensures compliance with State and federal financial rules and prepares budget documentation for various APD programs.

The Budget and Financial Analyst supports financial governance, verifies transactions, monitors funding utilization, and serves as a resource to the Director and related offices across state agencies.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.
• Two years of experience applying generally accepted accounting principles to accounting systems, records and reports.
• Candidates may substitute a Bachelor's degree with 30 credit hours in Accounting and related courses, plus auditing.
• CPA or master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsabilidades

• Independently apply general accounting principles to APD budgeting, analysis, reconciliation and reporting.
• Develop and reconcile APD budgets and supporting financial records; monitor expenditures and variances.
• Prepare SFY Budget Notes and PAD finance documents for APD Program Cost Accounts.
• Advise stakeholders on fiscal impact of budget and funding decisions and develop internal controls.
