Job summary

Integrated Programs Coordinator at Truman Medical Center, located at University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. This full-time, grant-funded position supports MO HealthNet (Medicaid) eligibility determinations for applications prepared by UH FCC staff; funding may end if the grant expires.

You will review applications, collect documents, assess income/assets, verify and load insurance in the UH system, and serve as a front-line contact to obtain demographic and financial data

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet Missouri employment requirements for state work.
• Complete 6-8 week Family Support Division training.
• Concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interview patients and gather information.
• Meets requirements for Resource Counselor II level.
• Proficient with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel; able to work in a busy environment.
• Able to recognize and evaluate urgency independently.
• Strong emotional intelligence and empathy.
• Detail oriented and accurate; able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Determine and verify MO HealthNet eligibility for UH FCC staff–completed applications.
• Review applications and gather necessary documentation.
• Assess income, assets and other factors for eligibility.
• Verify and load insurance in UH system as patients are approved.
• Serve as frontline representative; interview patients to obtain data in various settings.
• Explain health benefit regulations and patient financial obligations to stakeholders.
• Ask key questions to assist patients with financial options; be a problem solver.
• Use multiple systems/tools to determine eligibility independently.
