Job summary

Spring View Hospital in Kentucky is seeking a Medicaid Eligibility Advocate to assess patient financial needs, screen for insurance coverage, and counsel on benefits and co-pays. The role acts as a liaison between patients, the hospital, and government programs, supporting all areas of case management.

You will verify benefits, file applications, gather medical evidence, document progress, and participate in training while ensuring accurate data entry and timely processing.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum one-year related experience preferred, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage and government programs.
• Re-verify benefits and obtain necessary authorizations prior to treatment.
• Obtain medical evidence and documentation for eligibility determinations.
• Complete and file applications and follow up with patients and government agencies.
• Enter insurance and demographic data accurately and document progress notes.
• Participate in training programs and follow office policies and procedures.
• Make field visits as needed and coordinate transportation.
