Job summary

Sunshine Homecare Services is seeking a Medicaid Eligibility / Authorization Coordinator to ensure uninterrupted insurance coverage and timely authorizations for patients across all Sunshine Homecare agencies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of Medicaid eligibility and authorization experience in a healthcare setting, with familiarity of NHTD and TBI program requirements, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 3–5 years of Medicaid eligibility and authorization experience.
• Knowledge of NHTD and TBI program requirements is a plus.
• Experience working with patients, families, Medicaid representatives, and insurance companies.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to admission.
• Obtain initial and ongoing authorizations from Medicaid and insurers.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, families, insurance reps, service coordinators, and clinical staff.
• Track patient eligibility status and ensure continuous enrollment to prevent service interruptions.
• Maintain accurate and compliant records of all authorization requests, approvals, and denials.
