Job summary

COOLSOFT is seeking a Data Analyst for a contract role in Richmond, VA, focused on Medicaid/Medicare data, SQL development, and test planning. You will review designs, map data between systems, and collaborate with stakeholders to validate data and build reports.

Responsibilities include SQL data extraction, data governance, and creating dashboards using Tableau/Power BI. On-site requirements include some days per week, with hybrid work options and client coordination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Medicaid or Medicare experience.
• 3+ years as a Data Analyst or similar role with focus on data testing and SQL development.
• Advanced SQL skills in Teradata (including performance tuning, BTEQ, Teradata SQL Assistant).
• Ability to write test plans and perform data validation.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Statistics/Data Analytics/Math or related field.

Responsibilities

• Review design documents and map data between interfaces.
• Design and execute data validation and test plans across ETL and reports.
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.
• Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to resolve data issues.
• Develop workflows and document data warehouse schemas.
• Create dashboards and visualizations to meet business needs.
