Job summary

Van Buren Intermediate School District Special Services is seeking a Medicaid Coordinator in Lawrence, MI. The role is full-time, in-person, 200 days, and reports to the Administrator of Program Accountability. Starting date is immediately with responsibilities across district programs.

The Medicaid Coordinator will oversee county-wide participation in the SSP, collaborate with state agencies, ensure compliance, and support LEAs with program data and training materials.

Qualifications

  • Education & Certification: High School Diploma or GED required; college degree or credits preferred.
  • Work Experience: Experience with Michigan Medicaid School Services Program (SSSP) preferred; familiarity with IDEA, special education regulations and school-based service delivery; training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee county-wide participation in the Michigan Medicaid School Services Program (SSP).
  • Work closely with MDHHS, MDE, and LEAs to ensure Medicaid compliance.
  • Coordinate records management and data tracking, including financial records.

Job Goal:

The primary goal is to oversee county-wide participation in the Michigan Medicaid School Services Program (SSP). This position works closely with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), Michigan Department of Education (MDE), and constituent Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to ensure compliance with Medicaid requirements.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification :

High School Diploma or GED required; college degree or credits preferred.

Work Experience :

Experience with Michigan Medicaid School Services Program (SSSP), preferred. Familiarity with IDEA, special education regulations and school-based service delivery, preferred. Training for this position will be provided.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to travel across the county and state to participate in meetings and conferences

Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
