Team Leadership, Coaching & Communication
  • Exceeds Expectations: Clear, structured approach to mentoring staff, delegating workloads, and managing conflict. Provides concrete examples of coaching junior technicians (Tech IIs) and maintaining high team morale during high-stress situations. Communicates complex AV/IT concepts into plain language effortlessly.
  • Meets Expectations: Has experience assigning tasks, tracking workloads, and resolving team issues. Communicates clearly and demonstrates a customer-service mindset when dealing with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Does Not Meet Expectations: Struggles to explain leadership or coaching methods. Shows a preference for working in isolation rather than supporting a team, or uses overly technical jargon when communicating with non-technical users.
Technical Expertise & Escalation Management
  • Exceeds Expectations: Deep understanding of classroom technology, digital media (EDID/HDCP), live audio systems, and basic networking (IP routing). Possesses industry-recognized certifications (CTS, Crestron/Extron, Net+). Demonstrates a logical, methodical approach to root-cause troubleshooting under pressure.
  • Meets Expectations: Meets the minimum educational and 4-year technical experience requirements. Solid working knowledge of AV/IT systems, equipment maintenance, and basic troubleshooting procedures.
  • Does Not Meet Expectations: Lacks breadth in integrated AV control systems or IP networking. Struggles to articulate step-by-step troubleshooting processes for complex, multi-variable technical outages.
Project Management & Administration
  • Exceeds Expectations: Extensive experience managing classroom upgrade refreshes and vendor installations on time and within budget. Highly organized in ticketing workflows, project management software, and PO/purchasing documentation.
  • Meets Expectations: Experience managing small-to-medium projects, tracking service tickets, and ordering equipment/supplies. Familiar with basic project management principles and tool tracking.
  • Does Not Meet Expectations: Poor record-keeping habits or limited understanding of purchasing processes, budget tracking, and long-term asset lifecycle planning.
Event Technology Execution & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Exceeds Expectations: Proven track record of consulting with executive leadership, reviewing event AV needs, and delivering flawless technical support for large-scale campus events. Strong relationship-builder across diverse college departments (IT, Facilities, Event Services, Bond).
  • Meets Expectations: Capable of setting up and operating live audio/visual setups for campus functions. Collaborates effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Does Not Meet Expectations: Limited experience supporting live events or executive-level stakeholders. Difficulty handling last-minute schedule changes or high-pressure event demands.
College Alignment, Adaptability & Qualifications
  • Exceeds Expectations: Meets or exceeds education/experience requirements. Holds a valid driver's license for travel across campuses. Strong commitment to supporting a diverse student/faculty population. Highly adaptable to daily disruptions and changing priorities.
  • Meets Expectations: Meets minimum education (Associate's equivalent experience) and 4-year technical / 1-year lead experience requirements. Able to travel between North Region campuses as needed.
  • Does Not Meet Expectations: Does not meet minimum educational or experience requirements. Demonstrates rigidity when priorities shift unexpectedly during daily operations.

Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Four years’ experience working with various types of computer software and hardware, operating audiovisual equipment and using automated recording systems.
