Job summary

MiraCosta College in Oceanside, CA is seeking a part-time, non-benefited technician to install, maintain, repair, and support equipment used in Media Services and classrooms. The role includes basic videotaping and event support.

The position starts at $26,015 per year and offers periodic salary step increases. The regular schedule is 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, Monday through Wednesday, for 18 hours per week, with possible travel to other campus sites.

• Under direct supervision, provide skilled general equipment installation, maintenance, repair and support for equipment used in Media Services, classrooms and other facilities within the district; provide basic videotaping services; provide event support; and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

One regular, part-time, non-benefited position, 18 hours per week, 12 months per year on the Oceanside Campus with occasional travel to other campus sites. The normal work schedule will be 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday through Wednesday. Work days and hours are subject to change per department needs. The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.

The first-level interviews with the screening and interview committee and second-level interviews will be conducted in person.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:

MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite.

The District may consider an individual’s request to temporarily reside outside the State of California or beyond the 200-mile limit on a case-by‑case basis, provided it does not exceed 12 consecutive months.

Starting at $26,015 per year (range 12, step 1), with annual salary step increases up to step 5.
