Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Golf Channel along with digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

NBCUniversal is home to a Media Operations Center team that oversees the inbound and outbound digital delivery of NBCUniversal content. The team is responsible for sourcing, preparing, and fulfilling content to outlets such as cable networks, online destinations, Peacock, and more. You will be part of a 24x7 motivated team supporting media content fulfillment to NBCUniversal’s distribution outlets.

As a Media Operations Technician, you will handle all aspects of the digital supply chain: content QC, encoding, editing, and delivery. This requires focus, attention to detail, communication skills, and determination to ensure assets are distributed properly and timely, maintaining a 99.999% reliability goal.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain on-air continuity by completing all broadcast content including long-form, short-form, promos, commercials, and graphics as per NBC Universal’s automated system, the “Make-list”.
  2. Learn and perform all technical processes and technologies in the Media Operations Center, including future updates.
  3. Support NBC Universal’s Program Operations, On-Air Marketing, and Programming departments with ingest, transcode, and QC needs.
  4. Verify and create metadata on inbound content to prepare it for distribution to broadcast networks, streaming platforms like Peacock, and secondary outlets.
  5. Ensure inbound and outbound content meet technical specifications of NBCU and clients.
  6. Perform real-time, high-resolution quality control screening of content to identify legal, technical, and creative issues, ensuring compliance with FCC/NBCU standards.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and relevant certification or associate degree in Media or Communications, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Willingness to view all NBC Universal content, including mature material.

Additional Requirements

  • Willing to work in Stamford, CT, onsite as per company strategy.
  • Flexible to work any shift, including overnights, weekends, sometimes on short notice.
  • Unrestricted US employment authorization.
