Summary
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

This is a full time Media Manager position for NHL Productions. We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented media operations specialist to oversee Ice Chest, the NHL's video distribution platform, and support media management across NHL Productions shoots and projects. This role is central to coordinating assets, managing post-production workflows, and ensuring the smooth delivery of content across the league and broadcast partners. Start date is anticipated for August 24th, 2026.

This position would work a hybrid schedule which consists of one work from home day and four days in-office as of September 2025. The ideal candidate will have flexibility in working hours based on production demands and timelines.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Oversee and provide technical support for Ice Chest, the NHL's internal video distribution platform through Imagen.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for content delivery & discovery as well as account generation on Ice Chest.
  • Manage the ingest, organization, and archival process of media assets for NHL Productions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve organization, metadata, and accessibility within Ice Chest to better serve internal teams and external partners.
  • Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to propose and implement enhancements that expand Ice Chest's functionality, including searchability, tagging, and user experience.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure proper media management across all active and completed projects.
  • Track the status of ongoing media workflows and enforce deadlines to ensure all content is archived accurately and on time.
  • Maintain up-to-date tracking documents and logs for footage, project assets, and archive submissions
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to Ice Chest & media workflows and elevate when necessary.
  • Support and educate internal teams on best practices for file management, naming conventions, and archival procedures.
Qualifications
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • 5 year's experience as a content coordinator with experience managing others.
  • Candidate must have extensive experience working in content for a professional sports league.
  • Extension knowledge of the National Hockey League, it's teams and broadcast partners.
  • Proven record organizing and tracking footage & media requests for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of post-production and all that is required for timely execution of projects.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro & Media Encoder.
  • Knowledge of video metadata including frame rates, audio, & codecs.
  • Experience communicating with external stakeholders, preferably sports broadcasters.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of footage licensing rules and procedures a plus.
  • Experience with the entirety of the Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
Required Skills
  • Attention to detail; superior organizational and technical skills.
  • Must be very flexible with working hours, as day and night hours, weekdays and weekends are required as well as being on call for last minute production requirements. Workday can extend as production demands change, so schedule flexibility is a key component to the position.

SALARY RANGE
  • $80-100k

Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
