Job description

H Street Digital is a performance marketing agency specializing in scaling direct-to-consumer brands in the outdoor and sports category. We optimize five performance levers, offers, creative, media buying, landing page conversion rate optimization, and signal engineering, in 90-day sprints to scale accounts on a consistent, repeatable basis.

Mission

Own media buying strategy and performance across Meta and Google for a book of up to 10 client accounts. Partner with the Account Manager and Head of Performance Media to shape each client's media strategy and channel mix, join client calls to present strategy and results, identify opportunities and risks before they surface, and drive results against client KPIs.

Who You Are

A Cross-Channel Platform Expert: You have deep, current knowledge of both Meta and Google Ads, including account structure, bid strategy, budget allocation, and how the two channels work together across the customer journey. You keep that expertise current through certifications, platform updates, and industry reading.

A Strategic Partner: You shape each client's growth plan alongside the Account Manager and represent media strategy directly with clients, bringing a point of view on budget, testing, and channel mix, not just what's possible in-platform.

A Proactive Problem Solver: You spot issues and opportunities before anyone asks, form a hypothesis, and come with a recommendation rather than just a flag.

A Diagnostician: You pull your own data, analyze performance daily across both channels, and know why an account is or is not performing before anyone asks.

An Owner: You manage account mechanics with reliability and speed, and you treat each account's results as your own.

The Scope

Up to 10 client accounts

Primary channels: Meta and Google (Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, YouTube)

Emerging channels as testing opportunities arise: Snapchat, TikTok, and others

Key Responsibilities
Media Buying Strategy

Build and own the Meta and Google strategy for each assigned client, including channel mix, budget split between channels, and how each channel supports the client's growth plan.

Co-develop the media plan for each client's 90-day sprint with the Account Manager, including budget allocation across channels, testing roadmap, and channel mix.

Own the media buying lever within the sprint model, setting priorities and hypotheses for each cycle.

Proactively bring recommendations for budget shifts, new tests, and structural changes, supported by data, and make budget decisions within agreed thresholds.

Contribute to team-wide playbooks, testing frameworks, and best practices with the Head of Performance Media.

Maintain current expertise on Meta and Google platform changes and translate them into account-level opportunities.

Execution & Optimization

Own day-to-day execution across both channels: campaign setup, budget allocation, bid management, and account structure.

Analyze performance daily and optimize toward each client's KPIs, using blended and channel-level metrics to judge where the next dollar should go.

Monitor accounts for creative fatigue, bid volatility, audience saturation, budget pacing, and tracking issues. Diagnose root cause and resolve, or elevate with a recommended path when the fix sits outside media buying.

Design and run structured tests on both platforms.

Google Ad Copy & Product Feed Management

Write, test, and iterate on text-based ad copy (headlines, descriptions, RSAs) using structured tests rather than one-off swaps.

Own the product feed: monitor feed health, resolve disapprovals and data quality issues, and optimize titles, attributes, and categorization to improve Shopping and Performance Max performance.

Partner with the Account Manager or ecommerce lead on product data accuracy (pricing, availability, inventory sync), since feed issues often originate outside media buying.

Client Communication

Join client calls alongside the Account Manager to present media performance, explain what's driving results across channels, and recommend next steps.

Build and present the performance narrative for your accounts in QBRs and internal reviews.

Handle day-to-day tactical client questions on your accounts, and bring strategic or relationship-sensitive topics to the Account Manager.

Creative Partnership

Partner with the Creative Strategist to translate Meta performance data into the next round of creative test hypotheses.

Share asset-level performance data from Performance Max, Demand Gen, and YouTube to inform creative direction.

Share cross-channel learnings (audience, format, placement, copy angle, offer, feed attributes) with the Creative Strategist and broader team.

Identify when a client would benefit from testing a new channel (for example, Snapchat or TikTok), make the case to the Account Manager, and stand up and manage the test.

Qualifications

3 to 5 years of hands-on media buying experience, with direct account ownership on both Meta and Google; DTC or e-commerce experience required.

Demonstrated ability to manage 8 to 10+ ad accounts simultaneously.

Proficiency in Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads, including Google Shopping and Performance Max with product feed management.

Track record of developing media strategy that improved client results. You can walk through a specific recommendation you initiated, its outcome, and what you learned when a test didn't work.

Experience deciding budget allocation across channels based on blended and channel-level performance.

Strong quantitative skills; comfortable analyzing platform data and translating it into optimization decisions.

Experience with incrementality testing or measurement approaches beyond platform-attributed revenue preferred.

Proficiency in reporting and analytics tools (for example, Triple Whale, Northbeam).

Experience presenting media strategy and results directly to clients and internal stakeholders, answering performance questions with confidence, and influencing decisions.

Google Ads certification, or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days.

Familiarity with emerging platforms (Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest) a plus.

Bonus: a passion for the outdoors.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 days: Own day-to-day execution across both channels on your accounts, complete Google Ads certification if needed, and bring a recommendation to every check-in and client call.

6 months: Run your own cross-channel test roadmap, lead the performance narrative in QBRs, and expand the thresholds for budget decisions between and within channels as you show results.

12 months: Operate with full strategic ownership of media on your accounts, contribute directly to 90-day sprint plans, and help shape team playbooks.

Accounts hit or exceed KPI benchmarks within agreed sprint cycles.

Account Managers rely on you for the media strategy point of view, not just status updates.

You originate test ideas and recommendations each sprint rather than waiting for requests.

Issues are identified and addressed before the client raises them.

Clients view you as a trusted voice on media strategy and performance.

Compensation

Base salary plus a performance bonus tied to KPI benchmarks, per H Street Digital's current Ad Strategist incentive structure.

Equal Opportunity Employer

H Street Digital is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
