Job summary

The State of California, Department of Justice, Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse (DMFEA), seeks an Analyst I to review reports via email inboxes and a toll-free line, determine appropriate actions, and prepare intake-ready documentation.

You will enter Medi-Cal fraud and elder abuse cases into the DMFEA case management system, support the Complaint Intake Unit, and coordinate with CAT, FET, and other teams to route matters as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, thorough, and quality work.
• Strong analytical and writing skills (ability to organize information in a logical order).
• Ability to prepare and format documents in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to take direction from management, stakeholders, and others.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new systems, policies, procedures, and processes.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
• Experience entering data in a case management system or ProLaw.
• Knowledge and experience with MS Word, MS Teams, MS Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Review reports, monitor four vanity email inboxes and toll-free complaint line for reports of Medi-Cal Fraud and elder abuse.
• Review and analyze submitted reports to determine the appropriate course of action, prepare intake-ready reports, and refer matters outside the unit’s scope to the appropriate county, state, or federal agency.
• Evaluate and enter Medi-Cal fraud, elder abuse, and related complaints in the DMFEA’s case management system.
• Support the daily functions of the Complaint Intake Unit (CIU), the Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse’s centralized complaint intake unit.
