Job summary

Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County is seeking a detail-oriented administrative professional to support the clinical team with Medi-Cal billing and related data entry. You will ensure accurate information is entered into the County My Avatar System, verify eligibility, and prepare denial and reporting files as needed.

The role requires knowledge of medical billing processes, strong Excel/Word skills, and a commitment to confidentiality in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medical insurance and managed care insurance.
• Knowledge of HDX and ICD-9 & CPT-4 coding.
• Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and email communications.
• Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Enter information into the County My Avatar System to bill Medi-Cal claims.
• Confirm Medi-Cal eligibility before monthly submission of the claims.
• Periodically run My Avatar reports to confirm accuracy & completeness of client and billing data.
• Attend Santa Clara County My Avatar User Meeting.
• Review Power BI reports.
• Oversee openings in County My Avatar System.
• Run denial report from County My Avatar System, extract Denial file, clean it and prepare file.
• Back up Program Coordinator /Program Admin; corrects state and County denials.
• Ensure strict confidentiality of medical and financial records.
• Maintain filing and reporting systems, implement changes to filing and reporting systems as needed.
• Flexibility to take on new tasks.
• Demonstrated commitment to compassion, service, and social justice.
