- Ensure accurate information is entered into the County My Avatar System to bill Medi-Cal claims
- Confirm Medi-Cal eligibility before monthly submission of the claims.
- Periodically run My Avatar reports to confirm accuracy & completeness of client and billing data
- Attend Santa Clara County My Avatar User Meeting
- Review Power BI reports
- Oversee openings in County My Avatar System
- Run denial report from County My Avatar System, extracts Denial file, cleans it and prepares file.
- Back up Program Coordinator /Program Admin; corrects state and County denials
- Ensures strict confidentiality of medical and financial records.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain filing and reporting systems, implement changes to filing and reporting systems as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, or higher
- Some accounting courses preferred Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of medical billing experience
- Experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred
- Required knowledge, skills, abilities:
- Knowledge of Medicare/Medical commercial insurance and managed care insurance, medical terminology and customer service experience.
- Knowledge of HDX and ICD-9 & CPT-4 coding.
- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and email communications.
- Ability to work well under pressure, act independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced office environment; excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal/written English skills and effective interpersonal skills. Physical Requirements:
- Possess the mobility to maneuver throughout the building.
- Use a keyboard and computer terminal, telephone and other office equipment
- Occasional moving of furniture or equipment or office supplies
- Driving for errands and special projects.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Other Requirements:
- Criminal background check via livescan fingerprint
- Must have TB test performed and submit results
- Automobile, valid driver's license and auto insurance per agency policy; or have access to reliable transportation
Working Conditions:
- Work will be indoors in a comfortable shared office environment.
- Some work may be spent driving a vehicle on community roads for related errands or tasks.
Hours and other conditions:
- Standard office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
