Job summary

NHC in Columbia, South Carolina is seeking a Med Tech Shift Supervisor to oversee shift operations in the Nursing Department under the Director of Nursing.

You will lead shift caregivers, coordinate resident healthcare needs, ensure daily routines run smoothly, and maintain a safe, high‑quality care environment for residents; Matrix EMR familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as Med Tech or caregiver with supervisory/lead experience preferred.
• Basic computing skills and familiarity with electronic health records (Matrix a plus).
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise shift personnel and facilitate shift handoffs.
• Oversee response times to resident alerts and track vitals; ensure ADL and shower schedules.
• Log events using Matrix software; manage menus and dining room workflows; re-order medications as needed.
• Conduct daily/monthly safety checks and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Cover open floor assignments and participate in on-call duties.

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Med Tech Shift Supervisor to oversee shift operations within our Nursing Department under the direction of the Director of Nursing. In this role, you will lead shift caregivers, coordinate resident healthcare needs, ensure smooth daily routines, and maintain a safe, high-quality care environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Directly supervise shift personnel, facilitate shift handoffs, and foster a supportive, team-oriented culture.
• Oversee response times to resident alerts, track daily/weekly/monthly vitals, and ensure ADL and shower schedules are followed.
• Log events using Matrix software, manage menu/dining room workflows, and re-order medications as needed.
• Conduct daily/monthly safety checks of the home and grounds, participating in quality improvement initiatives.
• Cover open floor assignments as needed and participate in shared on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Med Tech or Caregiver with supervisory/lead experience preferred.
• Basic computing skills and familiarity with electronic health records (experience with Matrix is a plus).
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, leadership ability, and a genuine passion for senior care.
