Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant medication/medical assisting or med tech training program as required by state regulations.
• Typically 1+ years of experience in a medication-related role in healthcare or senior living.
• Shift lead experience coordinating tasks and supporting team workflow.
• Knowledge of medication administration principles, safety practices, and documentation expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate med tech activities during the assigned shift to support resident care needs.
• Administer medications and assist with medication-related services according to established procedures.
• Verify medication orders, dosages, and schedules to support accuracy and resident safety.
• Document medication administration and related observations promptly and accurately.
• Monitor residents for medication effects and report concerns to the care team.
• Maintain compliance with medication handling, storage, and safety protocols.
• Communicate shift updates clearly with team members to support continuity of care.
• Assist with infection control practices and follow safety procedures during the shift.
• Support training and guidance for med tech team members to promote consistent performance.

About the Role

Mountain Springs Assisted Living Community is a 24 bed community is seeking a part-time Med Tech Shift Lead to support the care team in an Assisted Living Community setting. In this role, you help ensure residents receive timely, accurate medication-related support while maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate med tech activities during your assigned shift to support resident care needs.

Requirements

• Shift lead experience: Demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks and support team workflow during a shift.
• Medication administration knowledge: Understanding of medication administration principles, safety practices, and documentation expectations.
• Software/tools: Familiarity with electronic documentation and medication management systems (EMR/eMAR or similar), or ability to learn quickly.
• Industry knowledge: Working knowledge of resident privacy, infection control basics, and healthcare documentation standards.
• Soft skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, reliability, and sound judgment.
• Professionalism: Ability to maintain a respectful, inclusive approach with residents, families, and team members.
• Schedule readiness: Ability to work part-time shifts in Spirit Lake, ID, as assigned.
