Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa seeks a Med Technologist MLS to perform laboratory testing and verify results. You will apply QC principles, interpret findings, and resolve problems using sound technical knowledge, contributing to accurate patient care.

The role operates on a 72-hour pay period with 7 days on/7 days off, primarily night shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. MLS/MT registry or eligible status is required, with a Bachelor’s in a related science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in medical technology or related science is required or qualifies as MT per CLIA high complexity.
• Educational transcript required for verification.
• MLS/MT (ASCP) registry required or completed within two years of hire.
• Previous experience is preferred.

MercyOne North Iowa is a clinical training site for approximately 500 students from 127 different colleges enrolled in programs for medical laboratory, nursing, paramedic, rehabilitation, medical assistants, pastoral services, physicians and many other medical fields. As a Med Technologist MLS at MercyOne, you will perform laboratory testing, verifying results using knowledge of principles, QC, and instruments and interprets results based on physiology. You will also recognize and solve problems using skills and technical knowledge.

Schedule: 72 hours a pay period 7 days on / 7 days off Weekends & holidays as they fall Hours vary between 8:00pm - 6:30am and 9:00pm - 8:30am

General Requirements:

• Bachelor's in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science degree is required or qualifies as an MT under the CLIA high complexity testing personnel qualifications.
