Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a Med Tech Lead for the Hematology & Blood Bank to oversee the designated laboratory section. The role includes writing and maintaining procedures, monitoring quality control, and coordinating competency assessments for staff.

The lead will supervise testing workflows, assure accurate reporting, and maintain equipment with a focus on service excellence and teamwork within the lab. Shift is 6a-2:30p, with benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), or Medical Technology (MT).
• Bachelor's degree in related science field plus NAACLS-recognized MLS/CLS/MT certificate.
• ASCP or equivalent certification within one year of employment.

General duties include but are not limited to: writing and maintaining laboratory procedures, monitoring the quality control program, assessing competency of laboratory employees, coordinating performance of proficiency testing, validating new testing procedures, monitoring section supplies and ordering new supplies when necessary. **PERFORMANCE STANDARDS**1. Demonstrates, coordinates, and completes competency of all testing procedures assigned during the first six months of employment and annually thereafter for all performing employees in designated section.2. Coordinates, performs, and evaluates quality control program, including review of monthly statistical data, implements corrective action as necessary.3. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on analyzers and equipment according to schedules.4. Reports results of testing accurately and within guidelines explained in the turnaround time policy.5. Performs end of shift duties including, but not limited to, resolving pending lists, sanitizing and restocking the work area.6. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence consistent with hospital-wide and department specific standards.7. Demonstrates teamwork, cooperation, and respect to internal and external customers alike; serves as the leader for the designated section.8. Answers phone calls within three rings, with name, department and service oriented demeanor. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**1. Graduate or student graduating within six months with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), or Medical Technology (MT).2. Bachelor's degree in related science field plus Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), or Medical Technology (MT), recognized by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).3.
