Job summary

The Cottages in Montgomery, AL is seeking a caregiver to provide personal care and support to residents, respond to call bells, and assist with activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Respond to pull cords and calls for assistance
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as ambulating, transfers, bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, meals
• Assist residents with medications
• Serve residents in dining rooms in a professional, friendly manner
• Keep resident apartments and common areas clean; assist with laundry
• Accompany residents to scheduled appointments
• Ensure safety and provide aid during emergencies
• Maintain regular attendance and a positive attitude

Job description

Pay Range: Pay Range: $14-$15 based on experience, previous med tech experience in assisted living or skilled facility preferred

• Rate of pay is based on experience

• Provide exceptional customer service to all residents, families, and guests

• Provide personal care and services for all residents including:

  • Respond to the pull cord system and calls for assistance

  • Assist all residents in the event of an emergency

  • Assist with ADL’s includingambulating,transfers, bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, meals,etc.

  • Assist in performing, monitoring and supervision of daily personal hygiene of residents

  • Assist residents with medications

  • Serve residents in the dining room in a professional, friendly manner

  • Clean resident’s apartments, launder their clothing and linens, clean common areas of community

  • Accompany residents toscheduled appointments

  • Must be able to read, write, and make simple calculations and followbothoral and writteninstructions

  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds unassisted and 125 pounds per person in a two-person lift, using proper body mechanics

  • Overall good physical and mental health

  • Overall patient and compassionate

  • Will be regular in attendance, with the right attitude and attire
