Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a Clinical Staff Nurse for the 5th Floor Med/Surg Tele unit. This full-time day position supports patient/family-centered care using the Watson Model and involves 12-hour shifts, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Ideal candidates have active CA RN license and 1+ year in Med/Surg/Telemetry or critical care, with bilingual (Spanish) skills and EMR experience preferred. Internal candidates may participate in residency programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Current California Nursing license.
• 12 months Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process to assess and plan care for patients and families.
• Prioritize and organize patient care; ensure plan is followed.
• Provide age-appropriate care and apply current literature to decisions.
• Document care using IPOC and Watson Model of Care per policies.
• Communicate with physicians via SBAR during handoffs.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care managers.
