Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Tele unit at Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth. This full-time position runs 7P-7A with rotating weekends and holidays, focusing on patient-centered inpatient and observation care.

Ideal candidates hold a Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing, current RN licensure in Texas, and BLS; ACLS and CPI training within 90 days of hire are required, with residency consideration for new grads.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing on hire.
• BLS certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire; CPI training within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year RN experience in acute care setting or completion of an RN residency program required.
• Strong Med/surg RN experience in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and during transfers.
