We’re now seeking Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurses for openings at a Federal Government Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Defence Health Agency Med Surg / Telemetry RN Contract Details:
$1,818 – $2,002 per week*
12-week contract with possibility of extension
AM shift available
Consult and coordinate with facility health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
Maintain qualifications and skills of a Medical Surgical Telemetry RN as confirmed by completion of the Skills Checklist and verified by the contracting clinical manager. Successfully complete the unit-specific orientation and competency skills checklist within the first 3 shifts. Maintain competency verification programs in accordance with unit, WRNMMC, and TJC guidelines.
Knowledge of telemetry system/ECG monitoring and ability to place ECG electrodes, observe, gather, initiate, compile, and record telemetry data to interpret EKG rhythm. Communicate cardiac rhythm changes and information on monitored patients with physician and interdisciplinary team
Obtain, analyze, and post rhythm strips on admission in patient records per unit protocol or as ordered by physician. Successfully interpret rhythm strips to include rate (atrial and ventricular), rhythm, PR interval, QRS interval, QT interval, ectopic beats, and ST segment changes and report abnormalities to provider

Requirements:
Current Ohio Nursing License
American Heart Association BLS
2 years of recent relevant nursing experience
Must be a US citizen
ACLS preferred
