Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med Surg on a PRN basis. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for acutely and critically ill patients in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Collects and assesses initial and ongoing patient data.
• Initiates and revises an individualized plan of care.
• Evaluates patient responses to interventions and adjusts care accordingly.
• Provides patient education and explains procedures, medications and care plans.
• Documents all aspects of patient care and ensures informed consent where indicated.
• Delivers care to acutely and critically ill patients in a high-acuity setting.
• Precepts or mentors staff and students as needed.
