Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg at Great Bend Hospital. This part-time PRN role involves delivering evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced Med Surg setting and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The RN will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, and educate patients and families while maintaining regulatory compliance and high standards of quality.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• RN licensure in Kansas (single state).
• ACLS and BLS certifications required/within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health status and develop a plan of care with outcomes.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in acute Med Surg settings.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Document care accurately and communicate with the care team.
• Provide patient and family education to support understanding.
