Job summary

McPherson Hospital Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med/Surg to deliver individualized care and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment across illness stages. The RN will assess patient needs, document care, and communicate with doctors and the care team.

The position is PRN (as needed) with responsibilities including education, medication administration, and monitoring patient status. Kansas licensure and BLS/ACLS/PALS within 6 months are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse or LPN in good standing.
• BLS verification within 6 months of hiring.
• ACLS and PALS verification within 6 months of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient understanding of plan of care and educate during hospital stay.
• Follow protocols for narcotic and other medication administration ensuring the five rights are met.
• Communicate patient condition and needs to doctors and staff to coordinate care.
• Document concerns, findings, and actions to support continuity of care.
• Monitor patient status and vital signs; respond to changes with appropriate care.
