Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
• Credential: Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction).
• Experience: None Required.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medications following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrate standards of excellence with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement plans as indicated.

Education
