Job summary

University Health Truman Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg 4 Gold Observation Unit. This full-time role involves caring for patients with acute, chronic, or terminal illnesses in a fast-paced environment in Kansas City, MO.

You will assess and plan patient care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, supervise students, participate in committees, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Evening shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM; 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Missouri RN license.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients based on diagnosis and care needs.
• Plan, perform, delegate, and evaluate nursing care using expert skills.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Participate in committees, program evaluations, research, and education.
• Supervise and mentor students.
• Maintain compliance with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and organizational/regulatory requirements.
