George Washington University Hospital is seeking an experienced Med Surg RN with a Neuro Trauma specialization to deliver high-quality patient care to critically ill and injured neuro patients in a Level I trauma setting.

The 6 North unit emphasizes Neuroscience, Orthopedics and Trauma, equipped with advanced monitoring and a healing environment to support patient recovery and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• BLS
• Current state nursing license.
• Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
• Requirements specified for specialty unit

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care to critically ill and injured patients with neurologic injuries (neuro trauma).
• Work on the 6 North unit focusing on Neuroscience, Orthopedic and Trauma services.
• Operate with advanced monitoring devices in a healing environment.
• Participate in a comprehensive stroke unit and Epilepsy unit parity.

Job Summary

Our Acute Care Trauma Level I hospital is currently seeking an experienced Med Surg RN with a specialization in Neuro Trauma to join our healthcare team. As a Med Surg RN in Neuro Trauma, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care to critically ill and injured patients with neurologic injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and spinal cord injuries.

The 6 North unit is committed to being the innovative leader in Neuroscience, Orthopedic and Trauma services. Our unit is equipped with advanced monitoring devices and perfected with an environment conducive to healing. We take pride in being a Comprehensive Stroke Unit and a Level 4 Epilepsy unit, the highest levels that can be attained.
