Job summary

George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC seeks an experienced nurse leader to oversee clinical practice, staffing, and patient flow on a daily basis. You will model values, provide real-time feedback, and drive department process improvements in a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• BSN required; 1 year charge nurse experience preferred.
• Professional experience that demonstrates ability to understand the clinical practice environment.
• Certification in specialty preferred.
• Unit-specific certifications (PALS, ACLS, TNCC, NRP, chemotherapy, etc.) preferred.
• Member of professional practice organization pertinent to area of practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides shift to shift oversight for clinical practice, staffing, patient flow, safety, service, and utilization of resources for daily operations. Maintains the environment of care.
• Provides care to patients in a competent, capable, caring and efficient manner. Care provided is appropriate to the age of the patients served.

We provide clinically advanced, personalized childbirth services with a collaborative approach with Advanced Practitioners and Providers. As a teaching and research hospital, advanced science is accessible for the most challenging birth situations.
