Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg unit in Athens, TN. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.

Join a team focused on compassionate care and professional growth within a fast-paced Med Surg environment. As an RN, you will perform assessments, develop care plans, mentor staff, manage staffing, and coordinate transfers, while delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• One year of direct Med Surg nursing experience required.
• Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire; ACLS/PALS as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition.
• Establishes a plan of care in collaboration with the patient and family.
• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Assists in determining staffing levels based on census and care needs.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.
• Takes patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies issues.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and navigates escalation channels.
• Performs role-specific duties including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies for safe care.
