Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Med/Surge RN II to provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient population. The role includes conducting assessments, assisting with exams and treatments, patient education, and maintaining medical records, while collaborating with the interprofessional team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

The RN II will participate in governance initiatives and may serve as a preceptor to students or new staff, contributing to specialty line or hospital-wide

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required.
• Current Texas Board of Nursing (or Compact State) RN license; BLS certification within 7 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments and patient education; maintain medical records.
• Provide direct patient care and coordinate with interprofessional health care team to achieve outcomes.
• Lead or participate in unit governance initiatives and serve as a preceptor to students or new staff.
• Develop, implement, and communicate patient care plans using the nursing process.
• Advocate for patients and families, ensuring safety and rights are protected.
