Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a registered nurse for the Med Surg-General Med Surg Unit (M6E). The 36‑hour schedule includes rotating days and nights with weekend/holiday coverage.

You will provide evidence-based nursing care to a diverse patient population and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must hold a Massachusetts RN license, have 1+ years of RN experience preferred, and possess BLS; ACLS may be required for certain units.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification required in certain units
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred)
• Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Fluency in another language a plus
• COVID-19 and flu vaccine booster required

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team in quality improvement projects
