Qualifications

• Mathematical skills for rate, ratio and percent calculations; ability to compute dosages and administer medications.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care per hospital and nursing policy.
• Establish a compassionate environment and provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Promote patient independence through education on condition, medications, and self-care; answer questions.
• Document care in patient records; communicate actions and needs across nursing teams.
• Serve as a preceptor for nursing students and maintain equipment and supply inventories.
