Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg unit on a PRN basis at Great Bend Hospital. The role involves delivering evidence-based nursing care within the scope of practice, participating in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, and collaborating with the health care team to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Bachelor Degree Nursing from an accredited college or university (preferred).
• ACLS - American Heart Association within 180 Days.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Kansas State Board of Nursing.
• BLS or BCLS - American Heart Association within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health status through data collection and observation.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes.
• Administer medications and manage parenteral therapies according to policy.
• Provide patient education and address questions and concerns.
• Document care accurately and communicate with the care team.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care.
• Respond to emergencies following established protocols.
