Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse RN to deliver patient-centered care across various clinical settings in Illinois. Under supervision of a health care provider, you will promote patient safety and well-being while performing essential nursing duties.

You will apply the nursing process, administer vaccines and medications, collect specimens, and document care in the electronic health record. Collaboration with clinicians and adherence to HIPAA and CLIA guidelines are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• College Diploma in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider and staff with obtaining basic vital information and preparing patients for examination.
• Demonstrate clinical competence to perform assigned nursing duties.
• Draw and collect blood or other samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Apply the Nursing Process within licensure guidelines.
• Provide telephone triage and follow-up calls for home care of illnesses.
• Administer vaccines and medications by oral, IM, SQ or ID routes.
• Place urinary catheters and IVs per protocol and license.
• Schedule referrals and complete requisitions for referrals or labs.
• Follow up on inpatient and outpatient procedures and precertification requirements.
• Documentation in the patient’s electronic health record using standardized workflows.
• Supervise delegated duties to LPNs and CMAs per approved protocols.
• Balance team and individual responsibilities and support patient care goals.
