HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all Med/Surg patients receive high quality, efficient care in a busy unit, and you will join an amazing team that supports one another and places patient care at the center of everything we do.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (or compact license with active FL within 60 days), a Nursing Diploma or ASN (BSN preferred), and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida RN or eligible for compact licensure; active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and interpersonal communication skills; PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of Med/Surg patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
