Job summary

Medina Regional Hospital in Hondo, TX is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse to provide bedside care in a fast-paced hospital setting, following medical staff directives and hospital policies. You will perform patient assessments, administer prescribed medications, document care, and educate patients and families while collaborating with physicians and the care team.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, Texas RN licensure, current BLS; ACLS, NRP and PALS within required timeframes; Med/Surg

Qualifications

• Current Texas Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• BLS within 30 days; ACLS within 90 days; NRP within 90 days; PALS within 6 months.
• One year of nursing experience in Med/Surg unit preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient to determine medical problems and documents in chart for Physician.
• Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
• Prepares equipment and aids to the physician during treatment and examination of patient.
• Reviews physician’s orders, laboratory requests, and reports to physician as needed.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor and Physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
