Job summary

Requirements include Texas RN licensure, BSN, BLS; ACLS, PALS, TNCC within specified timelines. One year of Med/Surg/CCU/ED experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• BLS within 30 days of hire; ACLS within 90 days of hire; PALS within 6 months; TNCC within 1 year.
• RN License to practice in Texas or Multi-State RN Compact License; or GN Permit.
• One year of nursing experience in Med/Surg/CCU/ED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to assess medical condition and document findings.
• Explain procedures and treatments to gain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and procedures.
• Review orders, labs, and reports with physician as needed.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety; observe and document changes.
• Record vital signs and notify supervisor/physician of significant changes.
• Respond to life-saving situations per policies and protocols.
• Document nursing history and services performed.
• Educate patients and families according to prescribed plans.
• Prepare rooms and sterile supplies for procedures.
• Provide personal care as needed and participate in quality improvement.
