Job summary

Monroe Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana, is seeking a Med/Surg Acute RN for a 13-week temporary assignment. The RN will provide safe patient care using the nursing process, maintain unit standards, and collaborate with the medical team.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current (preferred).
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned medical/surgical patients.
• Communicate changes in patients' clinical condition to physicians, including monitoring and diagnostic results.
• Demonstrate excellent observation and assessment skills.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and response to treatment.
• Record symptoms, reactions, and progress accurately.
• Administer medical treatments and examinations.
• Develop, plan, implement, evaluate, document, and manage nursing care.
• Direct and guide nursing staff while maintaining standards on the Medical/Surgical unit.
• Promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness.
• Educate patients, families, and communities about health.
