GHR Healthcare is seeking a Med/Surg Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Lawrence, KS. The RN will work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) on a 36-hour week schedule, with weekend coverage based on unit needs.

The role requires 1 year of Med/Surg experience, Kansas RN license, and BLS certification. Start date is November 8, 2026, with a contract through February 7, 2027, and opportunities to float to other units as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience in an acute-care setting.
• Current RN license in Kansas.
• Current BLS certification.
• Step-down experience preferred.

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical | Night Shift in Lawrence, Kansas

Apply for a 13-week Medical-Surgical travel nursing assignment in Lawrence, Kansas. Join a dedicated acute-care hospital team as an experienced Med/Surg RN providing comprehensive care to diverse adult patients on 12-hour night shifts.

• Location: Lawrence, Kansas
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Start Date: November 8, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks, through February 7, 2027
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week, generally three 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: No set schedule; weekend coverage is based on unit needs
• Additional Expectations: Holiday coverage and floating as needed

Medical-Surgical Travel RN Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse experience in an acute-care setting
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Step-down nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to changing unit schedules
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients throughout the care continuum
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for changes in patient status
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, patients, and families to support quality patient outcomes
• Document assessments, nursing interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Promote patient safety, comfort, education, and effective discharge planning
• Float to other appropriate hospital units and support weekend or holiday coverage as needed
