Med/Surg RN Details

• Location: Johnstown, Pennsylvania (Zip: 15905) – Pennsylvania nursing jobs
• Unit: Ortho/Trauma/Surgical Med/Surg Unit
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (19:00-07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend days per month
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800-$1840
• Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric
• Unit Size: Two units, 22 beds per side
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Electronic Health Record: EPIC

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Professional demeanor and adaptability in a clinical setting
• Completion of Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Department of Human Services Fingerprinting, FBI Department of Aging Fingerprinting, and PATCH PA State Police Clearance prior to start

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment
• Manage trauma, orthopedic, and surgical cases including knee/hip replacements, s/p falls, urology surgeries, and small bowel obstruction (SBO)
• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and perform comprehensive assessments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC EHR
• Float to other nursing units as required
