Job summary

Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital is seeking a Med/Surg/Peds Charge Nurse to lead nursing teams in a high-volume acute care setting. The role emphasizes clinical expertise, leadership, critical thinking, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

The Charge Nurse will coordinate rounds, staff scheduling, patient flow, and continuity of care across shifts, while ensuring compliance with Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Minnesota Board of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• 2 years of Acute Care Hospital nursing experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS and NRP within six months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate unit operations to ensure safe patient care.
• Perform rounds, oversee staff, and manage patient placement and flow.
• Maintain documentation and quality/compliance per policy.
• Respond to trauma, STEMI, and stroke activations.
