Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a part-time/ full-time Patient Care Associate (PCA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support Med Surg 5W. Typical shifts include day and night options with sign-on bonuses and comprehensive training pathways.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient assistance, and basic clinical tasks under RN/LPN supervision, with opportunities for career growth through Mercy's accredited apprenticeship and training programs.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC certification, or enrollment in a healthcare career program.
• Certification: BLS within one month of hire; PCA competencies within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and enter data into the electronic medical record.
• Assist patients with daily needs (meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, transportation).
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• For PCT role: perform phlebotomy and blood culture collection, administer enteral feedings, wound care, remove IVs and Foley catheters, and perform tracheostomy care and suctioning.
